This was built from a pile of log cabin blocks I received as a swap. And as sometimes (often) happens in a
swap not all blocks are created equal. A 12 inch block can be anything from 11-1/2 inches to 12-1/2 inches. There is no sashing with log cabin patterns. Just doesn’t work that way. So. . . I used my ol’ stand by solution. I cut them up!. Years ago Margaret Miller watched me do that to a set of blocks I’d made for her class and
she nearly fainted! But that’s another story) anyway – cutting blocks up at least gives you a different
perspective on your problem and a different set of blocks to work out the problem with.
